REMINISING

It is because of the foundation laid down many years ago that I have a story to tell you about a young girl who was asked to join the Theta Rho Club many years ago.

Not knowing just what Theta Rho stood for and being full of curiosity she accepted the offer to attend a membership tea.

Her first impression was that this was just another social club but guessed that she would give it a try by letting it show her just what it had to offer. She found out that Theta is the initial letter of a word in Greek meaning "Daughters" and Rho is the 1^st letter of the Greek word "Rebekah".. therefore Theta Rho was intended by the originators to mean "Daughters of Rebekahs". The club offered this girl an opportunity to fulfill her desire to know more about what goes on in this organization we call Oddfellows and Rebekahs.

She found out that men and women were willing to give of their time and knkowledge in helping youth to obtain knowledge and ideals of ODDFELLOWSHIP, teaching unselfishness, morality and patriotism. Promoting the sentiment that happiness is obtained through service to GOD and Man.

Educational programs, trips, club bullitins and socials helped each member to become closer.

You might ask, "Why am I telling of a young girl and Theta Rho of some years ago?

Because she took that step and it led her to where she is now standing before you, telling her sstory about a few things that helped her.

FRIENDSHIP LOVE and TRUTH is the aim of every Odd Fellow

These three attributes are expressed in the emblem of theis great Order. The THREE LINKS. Faith, Hope and Charity are also the attitudes of the members. Tolerance and understanding are their points of view. Universal justice is their desire.

Every Odd Fellow and Rebekah has been commanded to "VISIT THE SICK, RELIEVE THE DISTRESSSED, BURY THE DEAD AD EDUCATE THE ORPHAN".

Odd Fellows take their responsibilities willingly. More important than their rights and priviledges , are their duties and responsibilities and their service to others.

They band together spreading "FRIEDNSHIP, LOVE AND TRUTH" which are the cornerstone upon which Oddfellows have built this great Order.
