Yalobusha Memories - Volume One

Our first video magazine about the people, places and history of the county. Local historian Bruce Gurner is featured.There's lots of Water Valley segments as well as a tour of the county with stops at Scobey, Oakland, Tillatoba and Coffeeville. The video was first released in 1989 and was recently digitally remastered for DVD.

Yalobusha Memories - Volume Two

The second volume of our video magazine features the original Watermelon Carnivals and the 1942 O’Tuckalofa tornado with film provided by the McClarty and Carpenter families. Other segments include Mark Trusty, one of the original members of the Jaycees, telling the story of the Tri-Lake Fairs. Did you know that Elvis almost performed at the Fair? You’ll also see the 1991 Patriotic Parade and hear Miss Coralie Metcalf tell about how the family car ended up sitting in the front window of Turnage Drug Store. Volume Two made its debut in 1991.

Casey Jones

The Life and Death of an American Folk Legend

A video documentary produced in 1991 and hosted by Railroad Historian Bruce Gurner. This 45-minute program takes you along the route of Casey's last run from Memphis to Vaughan. More importantly, you get an insight into Casey's life and railroading during the golden age of steam. This Special Anniversary Edition has been digitally remastered and contains additional Water Valley district railroad history.
