ELI has successfully executed research projects for federal and private organizations ranging from inception of concept to product development and patent. In addition, ELI participates in product testing, pharmacokinetic studies, stability studies, and method development for a wide range of clients. The staff members of ELI have established expertise in the areas of analysis of a variety of drugs and their metabolites including but not limited to marijuana and cannabinoids, coca (leaves, paste, and cocaine), opiates, barbiturates, amphetamines, phencyclidine, benzodiazepines, gamma hydroxybutyrate, and other drugs of abuse.

Technical staff members are well trained and have participated in the execution of a variety of research projects in the drug abuse area. Every member of the ELI team is cognizant of the importance and implications of drug testing and research, the forensic aspects of it, and the confidentiality of the test results.
