ELI performs reference work analyses for other laboratories and manufacturers of testing reagents and quality control materials. ELI's emphasis is on the accuracy of the quantitation using GC/MS procedures and on the development and implementation of analytical procedures for drugs other than those mandated under federal guidelines.
GC/MS batches include calibrators at different concentrations (at least three points) to assure the most accurate quantitation. Controls within analytical batches include negative and positive samples, the results of which are subjected to strict acceptance criteria. Controls are plotted on Levi-Jennings charts for comparison. All quality control results are reviewed by the quality control supervisor and the laboratory director.
In addition to performing reference work in the area of drugs of abuse, ELI has performed GC/MS and HPLC analytical services to several clients in the pharmaceutical industry. These services ranged from developing analytical procedures to analyzing actual specimens.
