ELI has extensive experience in the preparation and certification of quality control specimens both for blind quality control use and as laboratory controls. Quality control specimens and certification services have been provided to major industries, public utilities including nuclear facilities, drug testing laboratories, and state and federal agencies for over a decade. Certified pure drug standards are maintained for the preparation of quality control specimens, and a human urine matrix has been developed which remains stable over a wide range of storage conditions.
ELI prepares and ships blind quality control specimens to clients engaged in drug testing. All orders are custom-filled and no minimum or maximum order is required.
Blinds can be shipped in ELI's bottles (approximately 60-70 mL volume), or if provided by client, blinds can be prepared in primary lab kits so that no repouring is required once the specimens are received. Specimens mandated by DHHS guidelines (Federal Register, Vol. 59, No. 110, June 9, 1994) and five additional drug classes are available as follows:
From time to time, specimens are available in two drug combinations (e.g., THC/PCP; COC/AMP; COC/MOR, etc.).
Drug Testing laboratories have their own preference of which drugs and/or metabolites to combine at specific levels in quality control samples. Since it is difficult to have available pre-determined shelf materials to meet requirements of all labs, ELI specializes in the preparation of custom-made products to suit laboratories' specific needs. These products are provided as liquid materials with refrigeration as the only required storage condition for a shelf-life stability of at least one year, with the exemption of oxazepam which has a shelf-life stability of nine months.
