Kenneth Bender has been a member of the R otary Club
of Oxford for more than a quarter of a century. He served as Assistant District
Governor in 1999-2001. He has served as district webmaster for the past
five years and editor for the District Governor's newsletter for three years,
and served as a member or chair of several district committees. He is a Paul
Harris Fellow and a Benefactor of the Rotary Foundation. He is
a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana. After teaching in public schools and colleges
in Indiana and Illinois, Ken joined the faculty of the University of Mississippi
in 1964 and retired in 1997 as Assistant Dean Emeritus and
Professor Emeritus of the School of Education Department of Curriculum
and Instruction. He was president of his local teacher's association for
four of the six years he taught in secondary schools. While at Ole Miss
he served as president of two state-wide education organizations and served
as either president and/or faculty advisor, intermittently, of two education
honoraries at Ole Miss, one for eight years and the other for sixteen years.
Ken has been active in a number of
civic groups dealing with the growth of Oxford, and was president of his
congregation for four two-year terms. He is married to Doris Lucille "Lucy"
Bender, a retired Registered Nurse and homemaker. They have two children,
Donald and Ann Marie. Lucy, Ann Marie, Donald and his wife, Martha, and
grandson Joseph are Paul Harris Fellows.

Dick Wieland was born and raised in Washington County, Kansas and attended
Kansas State University for two years before entering the Air Force Aviation
Cadet program where he learned to fly and was commissioned a second lieutenant.
He completed his BA degree at Middle Tennessee State. He was awarded the
Soldiers Medal for rescuing an individual drowning in the Japan Sea. As a
Combat Airlift Pilot during the Vietnam War he received the Distinguished
Flying Cross and Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters. On retiring from
the Air Force he managed an automotive parts operation in Nashville and later
employed by B. F. Goodrich in Murfreesboro.
In 1976 he became a Captain for Britt Airlines. After
15 he accepted a position with the Federal Aviation Administration. He lives
with his wife, Joann, in the Nesbit community where he serves as President
of the Bridgetown Community Association Council. He serves on the Church
Council of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Germantown, TN. In 1963 he was
instrumental in founding the Armed Services Mutual Benefit Association and
serves on this organizaton's Board of Directors. He is a Paul Harris Fellow
and a Rotary Foundation Benefactor.

Don is the retired executive vice president and operations/finance
officer of American Funeral Assurance Company. He retired from the U.S. Army
Reserve with 38 years of service as a personnel/finance officer. He is a
past chairman of Itawamba Community College board of directors and member
of First Baptist Church of Amory where he is a deacon, Sunday School outreach
leader, and member of the TV ministry committee. He and his wife Martha Eliza
beth have a son, daughter, and three grandsons.

George Rosentreter served as District Governor in 1999-2000. For thirteen
years, he and his wife June owned and operated their own business, retiring
in 1996. A native of New Orleans, he hold degrees from LSU
and Yale. He was an officer in the U. S. Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve.
He moved from Delaware to Oxford as regional sales manager for Oxford Chemicals.
He and his wife have three grown children and nine grandchildren. George
has been active in his church. He is currently the treasurer for the Pantry
(local food bank) and a volunteer for Hospice.

John (Oxford) and Ruth (Holly Springs)

John is a native of Michigan and Ruth of Pensacola. John was with
Procter and Gamble; on moving to Mississippi he spent 23 years with the Wurlitzer
Company and retired five years ago from Oxford Wire & Cable Services
as Vice President-Operations. Ruth, served as Executive Director of the Holly
Springs Chamber of Commerce until her recent retirement. In 2000 she was
Grand Marshal of the Holly Springs Christmas Parade. The Klohas have
four children and are members of Zion Lutheran Church where Ruth is
organist.
